Sleep Thieves release deluxe/remix edition of Islands EP & remix compilation!!

Hi all,

Today we re-release our recent EP ‘Islands’ as a deluxe edition with remixes of 4 of its tracks to be included as part of this digital only version.  Included are mixes by Sacred Animals (Islands), William Fakanamé, aka Dave Le Galaxie (Oceans), Fearsome Floors (Spirit Animal) and Steve McEvoy (Different Time).  Each brings a unique take on the original, from William Fakanamé’s dramatic, synth-drenched take on Oceans, to Sacred Animals dreamy, lilting treatment of title track Islands.  Fearsome Floors bounces Spirit Animal along with a bright, summery take on the tune and Steve McEvoy’s cinematic version of Different Time plays out the new edition.

For those that already own the EP, we have released all remixes of Sleep Thieves tracks to date in one handy download for the low low price of €2!  Joining the remixes from the Islands re-issue are 3 extra tracks.  Firstly, Hope Is Dead has been transformed into a wonderful deep house mix with a garage edge by DeepVibes radio DJ Ciara Cunnane.  Ciara has remixed for Didier Morris and Luke Marsh this year and continues to host her own UK radio show.  William Fakanamé returns with his summertime take on Do It The Hard Way, and finally Waterford’s Casanova Wave brings his laid-back electro vibes to City Lights, fresh from the release of his well received debut album earlier this year.

The third day of remixes and this one is something to dig the big can headphones out, sink into a bean bag and veg out to as its just lovely stuff.   Its full of texture and atmosphere and we love it, if anybody wants it for a film score, we can assist

Here we go with the second remix of the week, this time from Sacred Animals.  We’ve been big fans of his work, both original material and his prolific and impressive range of remixes for some time so we’re delighted with the airy, lush treatment he has given to Islands from our May EP.

A remix a day to celebrate 10 years of HWCH!

Hi all,

To celebrate ten years of Hard Working Class Heroes festival in Dublin  we’ve decided to release one remix each day until we play the festival  this Saturday night in the Button Factory. The remixes will be available to download for free for 24 hours only and will include tracks remixed  by Dave LeGalaxie, Sacred Animals and The Casanova Wave. Congratulations to Angela, Steve,  Brendan and the gang in FMC for organising and running a festival that  year on year supports and promotes excellent home grown music.

We’re looking forward to our own Hard Working Class  Heroes Button Factory slot on Saturday evening (9.40 for your gig  calendar!) and will be playing new songs, as well as  the tracks from our May released EP Islands.

Also, to follow tomorrow we have a wonderful remix of Islands that Sacred Animals has given epic treatment to.  Wednesday sees us move to cinematic, ambient teritory with Different Time, remixed by Steve McEvoy, ex-Datadrip and currently makes waves as a solo artist.  On Thursday, we open up the back catalogue with our 2011 album track City Lights given a bouncy, fresh makeover by The Casanova Wave, who we also worked with on a track (‘The Light’) from his excellent debut album released earlier this summer.
